A volcanic grinding slab with a mano (pestle) of the same material. Is one of the oldest domesticated tools of the Americas. Can be used to grind toasted cacao nibs with ingredients such as chiles, vanilla, and achiote. The ground chocolate is collected in a wooden trough.
